At Church of the Good Shepherd we believe that men have been given very specific roles within the Kingdom of God. As John Piper says, at the heart of mature masculinity is a sense of benevolent responsibility to lead, provide for and protect. However, fulfilling these biblical roles can be lonely and difficult in our modern context, and we often-times find ourselves easily entangled by sin (Hebrews 12:1). But we don’t have to serve in these roles alone because in the same way that Paul encourages Timothy, we too can share in each other’s suffering as good soldiers of Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:3).

Our Men’s Group is affectionately known as the Sheep DOGS or Dudes of the Good Shepherd. We get together regularly for times of mutually-beneficial care, study, and service. If you’re a man looking for a place of belonging and a place to be sharpened by other men (Proverbs 27:17), we encourage you to join us!
