Marcia Perez was born and raised in Brazil, where most of her family still resides. Music and creativity were a regular part of her upbringing, and she’s grateful for both a family and a community that loved to sing together. Her alma mater is Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, where she came to love Jesus and His bride and to value the cultivation of both good art and good theology in the church. It also explains the occasional midwestern accent that slips out.
In 2017 Marci joined the Anglican Church, and soon after met her husband Matt here at Church of the Good Shepherd. She’s been involved in the sacred arts at COGS ever since, and came on board the music team in 2019.
She works full time at a local farm, and alongside Matt, manages their micro urban homestead with ducks, chickens, a compost heap, and a garden, while scheming and dreaming of someday homesteading on a larger scale for the good of both their family and their community.
